The church "St. Nikola Leten", Village of Balanovo

The church "St. Nikola Leten" was built by master Milenko in 1843 and is unique in itself.

Master Milenko also built the temples in the Rila Monastery, the village of Topolnitsa, Kraynitsi, Samoranovo, Dupnitsa. Only the altars in the Rila Monastery and in Balanovo have a double wood carving, which has not been applied in any other church in Bulgaria and the world.

The village is located on the banks of the Razmetanitsa river. The church was painted by Georgi Ivanov Zograf (Painter) from Boboshevo. The founder's portraits, original inscriptions and frescoes, the wood-carved decoration of the iconostasis and the pulpit, as well as icons from the end of the 19th century have been preserved.
